General information: The LWL patch cable OM5 LC-LC belongs to the latest generation of multimode fiber optic cables and is based on OM5 fiber technology (50/125 µm). Compared to older multimode standards such as OM3 or OM4, OM5 was specifically developed for SWDM transmission (Short Wavelength Division Multiplexing) and enables more efficient use of existing fiber infrastructures. Thanks to SWDM optimization, OM5 enables more efficient use of existing fiber structures and offers greater flexibility as data requirements increase. This allows multiple data channels to be transmitted simultaneously over a single duplex fiber, which is particularly advantageous for increasing bandwidth requirements and makes the LWL multimode patch cable LC-LC a future-proof solution for modern fiber optic networks.
