Network Installation Cable Cat8 S/FTP hb-digital LSZH AWG22 – up to 2000MHz, halogen-free, for indoor use
General Information: The hb-digital Cat8 S/FTP LSZH AWG22 is an installation cable (network cable) of Category 8 for structured premises cabling in the simplex version 4P with 22AWG.
Function: The cable is designed for data transmission up to 2000MHz and is shielded through the S/FTP construction with aluminium/polyester foil per pair and an overall screen of tinned copper braid. It supports 10Base-T to 40GBase-T as well as PoE/PoE+.
Applications: The cable is intended as an installation cable for horizontal floor cabling indoors according to ISO/IEC 11801, ANSI/TIA-568.2-D, EN 50173 and EN 50288-12-1 and is not intended for crimping connectors. In addition to Ethernet, the data sheet lists further applications such as ISDN, FDDI, ATM and 16MB.
Material: The conductor is made of bare copper wire (22AWG), the insulation of foam PE. The sheath of LSZH compound according to EN 50290-2-27 is in RAL 5015 Blue. Reaction to fire according to the CPR is classified as B2ca-s1a, d1, a1.
Technical Details: The characteristic impedance is 100±5Ω (at 100MHz), the NVP is 78%. Attenuation is 18.5dB/100m at 100MHz and 90.5dB/100m at 2000MHz. NEXT is 75.4dB at 100MHz, return loss 22.2dB. The outer diameter is approx. 7.90mm, the bending radius 8xD.
Conclusion: A shielded, halogen-free Cat8 installation cable with a test frequency up to 2000MHz for demanding network installations indoors.
Note: Category 8 cabling is designed according to the standard for links up to 30m. This applies to all Cat8 cables according to the standard and is not a limitation of this specific cable. For indoor use only.
