The editors of the specialist magazines SATVISION and SAT Empfang took a closer look at the XORO HRT 8730 DVB-T2 HD receiver for freenet TV and subjected it to an extensive comparison.
Satvision
The Xoro HRT 8730 has a recording function. If an external USB data carrier in FAT32 or NTFS file format is connected, timers can be programmed, direct recordings can be made and the TV programme can be paused via timeshift so that it can be continued at a later time. The recordings are saved in TS format and are either split into blocks of four gigabytes (for FAT32) or not split at all (for NTFS). Unfortunately, an editing function was not implemented. During a recording, it was possible to switch to a channel that was on the same input channel. So if we were recording from ZDF HD, we were able to switch to Das Erste HD and the four private HD channels, but not to the other programmes.
